Online storage of your stuff
Some of you may like to have a look at a couple of sites ..

I've mentioned this one before, on this blogsite -- I thinks it's
a good one to use in case you have a major computer crash.
Unfortunately I found the downloading speed to be slow ..
about 1MB per minute, but this would be OK if all you wish
to retrieve are Word documents. You can pay to have the
entire contents of your backed-up site sent to you on a DVD
(from the USA).

My friend Steve uses this to store all his university essays
on it ... so he's got a couple of years' work backed up on this
site. I found uploading speeds to be slow on this site (about
1 MB per minute)... so it would be OK for storing important
Word documents, but not for a large number of 4MB photos.
The main email sites also offer lots of storage space, if you
have lots of spare time to upload your stuff onto emails to
post say to Googlemail or Hotmail, for example. Handy if
you're travelling abroad, to be able to access a list of phone
numbers or addresses of friends and family, etc.
I left my car hire documentation behind when we were
travelling to Majorca last year ... at the airport I was able to
retrieve the booking information from my Hotmail email site.
Thank goodness for email.
