AVG anti-virus 8.5 software
A new version of the AVG anti-virus software is available.
Last night, I got a screen message from AVG inviting me
download the latest version. (I've got the older AVG 7.5
professional version on my Windows Vista machine).
AVG warned me that it will stop sending me daily updates
for AVG 7.5, after 30 April. (I didn't bother upgrading to
to 8.0 version when this one came out).
The whole upgrading process took about 45 minutes, so if
you're thinking of doing the same, please allow this amount
of time in your day to do so. After installation, AVG will
ask you to bring up to date all its updates ... it's
very important that you do so.
I've got a free version of Avast anti-virus software on
my older machine (Windows XP one), and I must get round to
upgrading this soon ... I keep ignoring Avast's messages
to do so, as it's often around midnight when I'm using the
computer. :)
