If a business were to email you with one of these, the email would
arrive in your main John Smith inbox. You can set up a system
whereby the incoming email is starred, (have a look at the Filter
section in Gmail). If you start getting a lot of spam, then you can
set Gmail to delete further email from the address, via Filter.

To sign up for this, pop into your library with your library card
and possibly additional ID, to set up a pin number. The service is
brilliant for seeing if a book you want is available, and for
renewing your book loans.
