Mozilla Firefox
Peter Hilton, a member of our U3A, emailed me on 6 March with
the following comments...
"Thanks for all your advice, which is extremely helpful. I have been
told that those who spread viruses, etc, tend to concentrate on
Microsoft browsers, as that enables them to reach the maximum
number of PC's.
There are plenty of less well-known browsers available, which do
not attract as much attention. If people are having problems of this
sort, it may be worth trying another browser. I have recently
switched to Mozilla Firefox, which is very good."
I have read similar reports in the press and from people on the
internet, that Mozilla Firefox is very good. Over Xmas we stayed
with a relative in New Zealand who was using it successfully. I've
heard that office workers who work with Apple-Mac computers tend
to use Mozilla a lot.
There is an interesting article in Wikipedia about Mozilla ...
