Are any of you addicted to crosswords?

Well, yours truly and my wife Sue certainly are. We do the
Radio Times crossword most weeks, and usually we do manage
to complete it (the prize version, that is). Last week, we looked
at it on and off, but then on Friday we sat down together and
blitzted it.
It's amazing how true the saying is that two heads are better
than one. If Sue spots an anagram, then I can work it out in a
few seconds or minutes, and vice versa.
However we got stuck on the last clue, which read something like
this .... "Singer follows award for TV mafia head". Two words of
four and seven letters.
We worked out that the first word was Tony or Rory, but we
spent the next 2-3 hours puzzling over what the second word
was.... going through the alphabet and Google searches too ...
until we put the second word into the website oneacross dot com
... clue "singer" ... and the following ... blank O, blank R, blank N,
blank. The answer popped up in a flash. Amazing!
I'll leave you to find the answer yourself.

There may be some of you who prefer to thumb through a
dictionary, Roget or the Dictionary of Quotations ... thinking it's
more educational, more challlenging or more worthy to do so.
We use these books too, but the internet tools are there, so why
not use them?

BTW, if oneacross dot com replies saying "sorry we're too busy at
the moment", press "Go" a few times to prod it into action
.
