GIMP Basics again.
This week, JH will be answering any queries you might have about using
GIMP, which is a free photo-editor you can download from the internet.
If there are no queries, I will run through some of the basics again on how
to use GIMP, referring to Gimp pages 1 and 2 of my website …

I started using Photoshop in 2004, and then switched to using Gimp
2-3 years ago. I use it mainly for processing photos to put on several
websites I’ve set up (including the current Nottingham U3A one) and for
my Flickr site also …

I also use Gimp for making e-cards to send to family & friends.
I’ll be showing a few of my photos for demonstration purposes at my talk.
I’ve put these up on an online file-sharing website (ge.tt), which is free
to use … you can download these for your own personal use, if you so
wish. To publish these in any way, will require my permission, and a
donation to Nottingham U3A funds. :)
The photos will stay online for 90 days only … here is a link to the
Ge.tt webpage … http://ge.tt/8qlcdV5
All members are very welcome to attend our Computer Club.

How about having a go with Ge.tt?
Ge.tt is a wonderful free online file-sharing service …
To find the website, just google “Ge.tt”, or click HERE.
Registration is easy-peasy.
You can upload a document, photo or other file of any size to Ge.tt.
(One review article I’ve read suggests you might be limited to a file
size of 2GB).
You can upload more files, but only one at a time.
You can give your webpage a title, e.g. “J’s files”.
Online storage lasts 90 days, after which your files will be deleted
At the top of your new webpage, you will see the address (URL) in the
address box. Copy and paste this onto an email to send to your family
members & friends.
The computer magazines, "Webuser" and "Computer Active", both highly
recommend this service. Here’s an article I’ve just read online … http://www.webuser.co.uk/content/gett
BTW, I've just put up two small photos online, if you'd like to view
or download them ... http://www.ge.tt/#8TX7RO5 ... the photos will
disappear from view in 3 months' time.
