Listen again to Radio 4
(using RealPlayer)

I’ve been listening to a few recent Radio 4 programmes that I’ve missed
using BBC radio’s I Player facility.

BBC I Player works in conjunction with Real Player and not Windows Media
Player, (which I prefer for listening to audio).

To download RealPlayer free of charge from the BBC website …
type “RealPlayer” into the search box at the top of the BBC page,
and press “Search”.

On the next page displayed, click onto the first link at the top
of the list … the blue writing in particular … BBC Radio - Audio Help

Next to the penguin logo, click on … Download and install RealPlayer
at BBC Webwise

You will now see 2 columns … have a good look through the guide …

“Choose simple guide on how to install below”

This will show you how to install RealPlayer free of charge … basically
you go through the downloading process, but when you’re invited to
register your personal details with RP, just ignore this and “exit”
this page, but continue downloading RP nevertheless.

..........oooooOooooo..........

Before you go ahead with downloading the RP program onto your computer,
it’s generally a good idea to create a SYSTEM RESTORE POINT on your
computer ….

Start > Help & Support > “Undo changes to your computer with
System Restore”

Give your Restore Point a simple title and a date.

If your computer were to crash during any program installation, then it’s possible to restore your computer to its earlier state.

..........oooooOooooo..........

Next … returning to the RealPlayer installation process, click on the
operating system you have (eg Windows XP), which you’ll find under the heading: “Download Now”… and go through several windows to download it.

Here are the website links to Radio 4’s “You and Yours”

Listen Again (on Radio 4)

Ray Gosling's talk last Friday 1 Feb 08

Listen Again only applies for the following 7 days to any
one programme ... so you have until next Thursday to listen
to it ... it starts about 13 minutes into the programme.

I will go over this topic in more detail, at a future Computer Club
meeting this Summer. I think it's great to be able to listen to any
digital radio programme at a time that's convenient. Unfortunately,
Desert Island Discs isn't included in "Listen Again".
