Hi everyone,
I've set this blog/website as a way of improving
communication between Nottingham U3A members.
I invite all of you to write material to put up on this blog
.. items such as what's coming up at the next Computer
meeting, for example. You will be aware that we are a
mixed bunch of people with differing levels of knowledge
and with different interests, but I reckon we can all learn
a lot from each other.
In the past I've usually approached one of my daughters
or a friend for advice on particular computer problems
I've had. Since I've joined this group, I've learned a lot
from other members also.
I think one problem we have with the Computer Group is
its mixed ability - beginners may feel some topics are too
advanced for them to understand or of little interest for
them, or may feel too embarrassed to ask a simple question.
You will see a "comments" box just below this. Please will
you use this to give us feedback or your suggestions for
future topics for meetings? We could use this site as a
forum to exchange ideas. When you've typed in your
comment, just click on "other" under identity , add your
name and then press the blue "Login and publish" button.
If you'd like to submit something more "meaty" for me to
post on this blog, please would you email it to me at the
email address below?
When Nottingham U3A becomes linked to the internet, I
think a lot of U3A members will be interested in coming
along to Computer Club meetings, so they can learn how
to get going with emailing family and friends, doing Google
searches, and accessing lots of internet sites.
By the way, I've set up this site for use of U3A members
only - general members of the public shouldn't be able to
access it, unless you invite family or friends to do so.
